Bass Fishing In The Shoals

Tom Haddock and Danny Montgomery, fishing in a Haddock Masonry boat, took top prize for boat catch in the 24th annual Alabama AGC Shoals Section Bass Tournament with 18 lbs., 8 ozs. Click the link at the bottom of the home page to see more tournament pictures.

Dusty Rhodes, fishing in a Tim Rhodes Electric boat, caught the largest single fish during the May 14 tournament, a lunker weighing in at 6 lbs., 14 ozs. Rhodes was ineligible for the prize because he and his partner finished second overall, so Philip Darby, fishing in a Smith General Contractors boat, won the Big Fish Cash Award with his 5 lbs., 3 ozs. bass.

Rhodes and Scotty Lanier had a total boat catch of 18 lbs., 6 ozs. and Gary Puckett and Hal Bray, fishing in a Johnson Contractors boat, finished third overall with a catch of 16 lbs., 2 ozs.

The tournament was fished on Pickwick and Wilson lakes and the weigh-in was at McFarland Park.

Tournament sponsors were: B Electric, Bama Concrete, Bigbee Steel Buildings, Blue Star Ready Mix USA, C&H Heating & Cooling, Johnson Contractors, Rogers Group, Shoals Electric and Vulcan Materials.
