The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.

Members Hiring Veterans

Ten Alabama contractors, including Caddell, Brasfield & Gorrie, BL Harbert and Dunn Construction, took resumes from service men and women preparing to enter the workforce.

The contractors attended the third Veterans2Construction Job Fair, April 29, 2015, at Ft. Benning, GA.

Alabama AGC partnered with Auburn University for the second year of the program designed to connect veterans with the construction industry.

“This is an excellent way to help our industry develop the construction workforce for the future,” said Alabama AGC’s Josh Caton. “The goal of the Veterans2Construction program is to create a permanent pipeline for separating military service members to enter the construction industry.”
