The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.

Recently, members of Alabama's business community including the Business Council of Alabama, Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama as well as local chambers of commerce, industry associations and community organizations have been working together to communicate the need for fixing Alabama's transportation infrastructure network.  One result of this work is the creation of the Alliance for Alabama's Infrastructure (AAI).

AAI is a grassroots advocacy coalition that promotes financially-responsible investment in Alabama's roads and infrastructure. The Alliance monitors the needs of Alabama's transportation network, communicates those needs to the public and identifies opportunities to make immediate, critical improvements. By repairing and maintaining existing roads and committing to new priority projects, the Alliance aims to protect Alabama's citizens, generate economic growth and improve quality of life.

We are writing to request that your organization sign on to be a member of our coalition.  There are strength in numbers and this is an important economic development issue that effects every part of Alabama.  Please indicate your willingness to list your organization as part of the Alliance for Alabama's Infrastructure by replying to this email.

The links below will provide additional information about AAI and the principles we support.
