The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.

SECTION NEWS: Shoals Section Community Service Committee & Safeplace Times Daily Article

The Shoals Section of Alabama AGC was featured in the Times Daily over the weekend for their work at Safeplace. The community service committee, Rusty Carbine, Joel Quillen, and Benji Wilson, worked with members and other companies to complete seven projects at the domestic violence shelter. It was a very much appreciated endeavor for Safeplace to have many of their building needs met. Projects completed were:

*        Repaired, cleaned, and repainted stucco,

*        Repainted needed bedroom areas,

*        Installed walls for overflow (male) room,

*        Reconfigured bathrooms to include a shower for overflow room,

*        Repaired and installed additional playground and exterior lighting,

*        Installed new kitchen cabinets, flooring, countertops, and new pantry shelving, and

*        Updated the helpline office.

A huge thank you to the committee members and the following who worked on the project.
