The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.

Donations for Baton Rouge Flood Victims

Southern Earth Sciences, Inc. is organizing supplies and donations today to take to their employees in Baton Rouge who have been affected by the flooding in Baton Rouge. They have several employees who have lost their homes and/or vehicles from the flooding. They  have rented a Uhaul and will be making a trip to Baton Rouge first thing tomorrow morning.  If anyone is interested in helping,  donations would be greatly appreciated.  They will also gladly deliver any supplies anyone has been collecting to other businesses or agencies, not just SES’s Baton Rouge office!

Needed Supplies include:   all cleaning supplies, paper towels, trash bags, Clorox wipes, rags, etc. Pressure washer, gas, as well as personal care items and non-perishable food and water. SES will also accept monetary donations at their Corporate office via check or credit cards. To donate they can call Debbie at SES Corporate Office at 251-445-4370.

They are making a Costco run today and then the Uhaul will be parked at the SESI Rangeline office where there will be someone to take donations until 8 p.m. tonight. If someone wants to meet after that time or early in the morning (they are planning to leave around 5:30 a.m.) they can contact SES Safety Director, Toby Phillips at 251-747-3486 or Lewis Copeland at 251379-3901.

Any help will be appreciated!
