Congress to Consider Repealing Blacklisting & OtherMidnight Obama Regulations This Week
This week, Congress is considering the repeal of last minute Obama administration regulations, including the Blacklisting regulations.
The Blacklisting regulations would require federal construction contracting officers to subjectively review prime and subcontractors’ state and federal labor law violations—including mere allegations of such violations. Using those “violations” as justification, contracting officers could effectively debar—or blacklist—your construction company from bidding or working on federal construction contracts.
If you want Congress to repeal the Blacklisting regulations and other midnight Obama administration regulations that are overburdening your construction business, contact them now.
The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.
