Jefferson State Community College will be offering NCCER carpentry training beginning Oct. 23. The classes -- online, flexible and FREE -- are paid for through a grant from the Craft Training Board.
The curriculum has been designed by a group of AGC contractors and is perfect for a helper or a somewhat experienced carpenter. Core curriculum, residential and redundant subjects have been deleted from the streamlined curriculum. Instruction will be overseen by Marcus Graves, an NCCER-certified instructor at Pope-Eden Career Tech Center with field experience from Brasfield & Gorrie.
The curriculum is designed to focus on work-readiness with most hands-on work to be done on the job. Classroom and lab time will be provided as well.
The online component allows students to travel for their job and keep up with coursework.
If you have a beginner or an employee who needs to increase his or her skill level, this class is perfect. Please follow the link to the registration form, fill it out and return by Oct. 13 to Josh Caton at the Alabama AGC at email@example.com or by fax at 205.451.1499.
