The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.

Alabama AGC Recognized at AGCA National Convention in Las Vegas

Alabama AGC attended AGC of America's Annual Convention on March 7-9, 2017 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, NV and many of our members and programs were recognized.

Go Build, the program founded in Alabama, was prominently featured before the ELC Board of Directors by Bob Wood.  Alabama AGC was one of the founding entities responsible for the creation of Go Build Alabama, and has spread to other parts of the country for the job recruitment of America’s construction workforce. 

Alabama AGC CEO Billy Norrell was installed on the Executive Leadership Council board of directors as the liaison for the AGC of America representing the Federal and Heavy Division. (Image 7338)

B.L. Harbert International, LLC was selected as a Winner of a 2017 Alliant Build America Award in the International category for their U.S. Embassy Compound - Paramaribo, Suriname project.

Caddell Construction Co. was selected as a Winner of a 2017 Alliant Build America Award in the Federal & Heavy New category for their D/B UAV Complex / Camp Mackall-Fort Bragg, NC project.

Eddie Stewart of Caddell Construction was also installed as Senior Vice President of AGC of America.  Be sure to join AGC of America in New Orleans in 2018 as we welcome Eddie as our national president, and Alabama’s first national president of AGC of America.
