The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.

Three Alabama Students Receive AGC/ERF National Scholarships

The AGC Education and Research Foundation scholarship program awarded scholarships to 158 students across the nation for the 2017-18 academic year.  Three students from Alabama were awarded scholarships:

Eric Lynn, Auburn University - G. Von Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund
Robert Curtis, Auburn University - William and Shirley C. McIntyre Scholarship Fund
Kimberly Howe, The University of Alabama - Norman J. Walton Memorial Scholarship Fund

The application for undergraduate and graduate students for the 2018-19 academic year opens on July 1 at agcfoundation.org.  The deadline to apply is November 1, 2017.  In addition, the foundation offers a scholarship for students in craft and technical programs (certificate and degree programs).  The online application can also be found at agcfoundation.org
