The Birmingham Section started 2015 with a political reception at the Murray Building Co. jobsite at the old Merita Bread Bakery. More than 150 members were in attendance with city and state officials. Everyone enjoyed a tour of the site as well as barbecue from Joe McNabb and Hendrix Chevrolet.

Earn DBIA Credits at Free Design-Build Luncheon

Join DBIA in Birmingham

The Design-Build Institute of America's South Central Region would like to invite you to join us at a free luncheon workshop: Paradise Restored in the Florida Keys. Attendees can earn CEU credits while learning about one of the region's most successful design-build water/wastewater projects.

The Village of Islamorada partnered with Reynolds Water Islamorada, LLC, on a $100M design-build project that involved the extension of sanity sewer service to incorporated islands in the Florida Keys. The key to providing a customized wastewater solution to thousands of private properties was interaction and cooperation with the public. Along with full team collaboration, stakeholders were able to achieve their goal of restoring the pristine nearshore waters of the Florida Keys, while providing a cost-effective sustainable solution.

There are many design-build lessons to be learned in this impressive project case study and participants can gain real-world tips and advice that you can utilize in your own projects. We hope you'll join us.
